Hot Toddy for Your Body

With the crisp winter air also comes the winter cold and flu season. But don’t worry, let Dr. Brinson give you a hand with that. If your feeling a little under the weather or you just want to warm up on a chilly winter night, why not have a hot toddy! The warmness of the hot water mixed with brandy and a hint of cinnamon, you can’t go wrong.

You know a hot toddy recipe is good when you get a pint of brandy in you Christmas stocking with a recipe tied around the top. If Mom “O” says it’s good for you, you can’t say no. Put the kettle on the stove, put on you slippers and prepare to relax. This is how we enjoy the winter season! Enjoy.

Hot Toddy Recipe

  • 1.5 oz brandy
  • 3 oz hot water
  • 1 pat of butter
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  1. For a crowd, mix all ingredients in a pot over medium low heat. Make sure sugar has completely dissolved.For a single serving, heat water in kettle, add all ingredients and stir to dissolve sugar.
  2. If you heat in a pot on the stove remove from heat and let cool a bit before pouring into heat proof glass.
