Black & White Food: Garlic

Different types of food always intrigue me, especially varieties with differences, like color. Does it really taste that different? Here are two types of garlic, one the typical 'white' garlic and one black. Black garlic is actually fermented white garlic. Who knows how it happens, but I was pleasantly surprised by the taste and almost sweet smell. We tried it in some stir fry and it was very mild. I would venture to try the black garlic with some plain pasta and olive oil.

Oh my! What a lovely color, though. It's almost a chocolate brown, more than a black. I've never seen it, but I'll definitely have to keep my eyes open for it! Can't wait to hear how it is with pasta! Happy cooking :)

This is a fantastic picture! I really enjoy black garlic, I find it to be less pungent in raw hummus and other spreads. So glad I found your blog! :)

Hi, I work in a chocolate shop and my chef infused black garlic into chocolates, macarons and ice creams. I must say it's absolutely delicious! It would probably be better to enjoy it raw rather then frying it?
