New Amsterdam Market

We took a little trip this weekend to South Manhattan, a real hike for us. New Yorkers get in the bad habit of not leaving their own neighborhoods. We had a strong lure, food. I have been seeing the tweets from the New Amsterdam Market and couldn't wait to see what it is all about.

Hands down it is probably one of the best craftsman markets I have ever been to. Each vendor truly a master at their craft whether is is making bikes or curing meat, you can tell the amount of care that goes into each product is astounding.

Here are a few of our favorites: Bowery Lane Bicycles, Fleishers (Butcher) and Blue Bottle Coffee.

We also bought chocolate, cheese, bacon and nuts to take home after enjoying the Beekman Beer Garden on the pier.
