Summer Blues

With July Fourth right around the corner I always think about how I can decorate for a holiday with what I already own. I love these simple blue and white china plates. I buy them as I see them, with no plan in mind, normally costing a few dollars. I will keep an eye out for them at yard sales and antique shops as I get out and about this summer. There are collectors of all different types of blue and white china. I found this website called Lovers of Blue and White. It is really interesting to browse all of the patterns that have become popular through out the years. You could almost do a world history looking at all of the patterns and topics of transferware.
Enjoy getting ready for summer entertaining and be creative with what you have around you!

Your collection is beautiful and so artfully arranged. It brings to mind the idea of living simply and with less stuff. While I aspire to that idea, I really struggle with it. I am glad I never got rid of my collection of blue and white transferware: Spode Camilla, which would fetch a nice price. I've had it boxed up in the garage for years. But I've been thinkng about unpacking it and even hanging some pieces on the wall in the kitchen.

I love your styling. I've been wanting to make a plate wall in my kitchen for a few years. I'm still in the collecting phase, but you may have inspired me to go ahead and work with what I have. I could always add more and rearrange when I find more pieces.
